DANIEL'S STORY
RAISING UP GENERATIONS IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH
For the last 50 years Daniel has ministered Spirit & Truth to 1000's of truth-seeking believers and has left a worldwide, lasting impact on the culture of modern worship. His revelation of the Holy Spirit inside of us has been prophetically confirmed as a great part of this Third Great Awakening that we are living in today.
The Beginning
Daniel Amstutz was called to communicate the gospel from the womb! His father’s family was from Switzerland and his Mom’s family was from Denmark.
In the middle of a good ol’ American North Dakota blizzard, his beloved momma gave birth to her third child of five, Daniel. She had an incredible encounter that would change her life and Daniel’s life forever... she died while giving birth to Daniel. While she was looking down on herself giving birth from the top of the room, she asked the Lord, “Are you taking me to heaven?” The Lord answered, “No, but I want you to come with Me.” She went with the Lord, left the room, and went above the atmosphere to what she described as ‘a whirlwind tour of the nations’. As that was happening, the Spirit of God spoke to her and told her, “This son you are giving birth to will take My Word in teaching and song to the nations”.
"She
died
while giving birth to Daniel..."

At that moment, she came back into her body and started witnessing to her Jewish doctor about how good God is and how to receive eternal life. She was shown how Daniel would be set apart to fulfill a great calling to impact the world with a ministry of Spirit & Truth. Although she knew the importance of one day sharing what she had experienced the day of Daniel’s birth, she also knew the timing to tell Daniel what had happened would need to be led by the Lord. He needed to discover his path through life experiences and be directed by God through his own heart. When Daniel Amstutz was in his late 20’s, his mom finally felt led to impact his life and share the story of the day of his birth and her God given encounter.

At the early age of 10, Daniel would intently listen, while in class, to the local high school marching band practicing drum cadences just outside his classroom as they would march through the city streets. He would mimic, practice, and duplicate everything he heard to perfection and ended up memorizing each one by ear. One day some of the high school students overheard him playing some of their drum cadences and were blown away and immediately had to introduce him to their band director. That day, Daniel broke history by becoming the youngest band member to ever march in that high school band. Daniel couldn’t get enough of music. He learned piano, saxophone, trumpet, and eventually the french horn. In addition, he learned a wide variety of percussion instruments, including the tympani. Eventually, Daniel also found his voice and began to sing within the church that his parents pastored.
"Daniel’s true calling started to take shape and come to pass within his life."
Throughout his high school years Daniel Amstutz took part in many productions. He had the lead male role in “The Sound of Music” and the musical “Oklahoma”. He also performed two arias from “Handel’s Messiah” and received superior ratings. In trying to decide what career path to take, Daniel decided to pursue opera and classical singing, but God had already ordained a different plan. Daniel was redirected to his original design from the beginning to take his first steps on the path God showed his momma the day Daniel was born. In 1973 his mom finally began to see Daniel’s true calling started to take shape and come to pass within his life. In 1993, Daniel’s mother suddenly took a turn for the worst with her health and moved to heaven. Before her passing, she sat up in her hospital bed and pointed her finger at Daniel and said to him in that Mom voice, “Don’t you let this (her physical condition) deter you one iota from ministering healing, teaching God’s Word, and leading worship all over the world! God’s Word is true!”
Even to this day, Daniel Amstutz has been described by many as “a father” in the modern worship movement. Helping to pioneer and mentor many who continue to have tremendous impact on the Body of Christ and modern culture as well. Daniel is a published songwriter and recording artist. He has also served as a worship leader, pastor, and teacher. Since 2011, he has become the Director of Charis Worship, The Worship Arts School, and Director of the Healing School at Charis Bible College with Andrew Wommack Ministries. He has trained thousands of students to walk in a lifestyle of worship as well as to minister to the sick and brokenhearted.
During a powerful encounter with the Lord in 1980, Daniel Amstutz had a vision of people getting up out of wheel chairs, limbs being restored, and all kinds of diseases being healed during worship. This immediately changed his ministry, and he continually sees God’s Word fulfilled to this day as a
result. Music is not Daniel’s only gift and passion. He is an incredible teacher who loves to teach and help people to live transformed and set free from the “Inside Out” through the Word of God and the ministry of the Spirit of God.
Spirit & Truth is a life theme for sure! Daniel’s sense of humor along with his relaxed style helps people receive the life changing message that God wants you to live a set free, healthy, healed, and whole life in every area!
